What to include on an invitation template
Before you send out your invitations, make sure you’ve included all the details that your guests will need to attend your event. At Template Monkey, we encourage you to mix fundamental elements with fun extra elements to craft the perfect invitation.
Fundamental elements
The Who’s - the person or people at the center of the event and the RSVP contact person
The What - the kind of event you will be holding
The When - the details for when the event takes place (time and date)
The Where - the exact location of the event
Extra details that will make your invitation card special
RSVP/Reply Section - To make sure you get a confirmation of how many people to expect for your event, you can include an RSVP section at the bottom of your invitation. Use this section to place specific instructions for how guests can RSVP, with a template reply and the details for where to send it.
Dress Code - If the invitation is for a corporate event or a wedding, a dress code note is an excellent and polite way to remind your guests about what they should be wearing. The last thing you want is for guests to show up at your wedding in a tank top and shorts.
Map - If you’re worried about guests losing their way to the venue, include a handy map in the invitation! Not only is it a great design element for your invitation, but it’ll be a useful reminder to guests.
QR Code - QR codes not only change the look of your invites but add a functional element to it as well. You can put a map QR code or a URL that directs to the venue's location. You can also have one for RSVP purposes or one where people can see the photos, videos, and teasers you have for the event.
